Here's a life lesson you can learn from the Bible. "The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you." (Matthew 12:37).

By speaking less, individuals can avoid unnecessary conflicts, misunderstandings, and hurtful words that may damage relationships and cause regret.

say less

If your conversation involves complaining, don’t do it. If it entails fault finding, keep it to yourself. If it includes judging others, keep your mouth closed. If it’s gossiping, even about those you don’t know like a celebrity, get away or change the conversation. Whatever you do, don’t let your mouth get you in trouble with God or others.

Even your opinion can be offensive or judgmental, so get in the habit of thinking before speaking. Better yet, ask the Holy Spirit to help you say less so you won’t say things you shouldn’t (Matthew 12:34).

The Bible says, even a fool, when they keep quiet, is considered wise and prudent (Proverbs 17:28).

Our heart reveals our true nature. Proverbs 4:23 warns us to guard our heart because it determines the course of our life. It shapes our actions and influences the direction of our lives, reflecting our innermost nature. The things we say and the decisions we make are a reflection of the condition of our heart.

According to Jeremiah 17:9, the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? But, there's hope. The Holy Spirit can transform our nature from its current state to where it should be. The Holy Spirit knows that every good tree bears good fruit, while a bad tree bears bad fruit. He also knows that a good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit (Matthew 7:17-18).

To prevent unnecessary conflicts, it is best to not be someone who feels the need to say everything that comes to mind. Choosing silence over a quick response allows us to reflect on the potential consequences of our words and reply in a more positive constructive way.

Remember what the Bible says, the words you say will either acquit you or condemn you (Matthew 12:37). Don't take God's words lightly because God doesn't speak idly. Each word carries significance and can significantly impact your life. So, when He advises us to be mindful of our words, He is doing so for our own benefit and safety.

 A call for salvation

When you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, His spirit will come to live inside you. This is one of the greatest blessings of salvation. You don't have to go through someone else to get to God, and He will live in your heart where you and Him become one and have a relationship.

All you have to do is make the choice of salvation by repenting of your sins and accepting Jesus into your life by confessing that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that He came from Heaven to die for your sins (Romans 10:9).

Here's a prayer you can repeat:

"Jesus, I confess that you are Lord, and I believe you died and was risen for my sins. I repent and ask for forgiveness of my sins, and I accept you as my personal Lord and Savior. Come into my heart and remove my sins. Thank you for forgiving me and making me into a new person in Jesus' name, Amen."

Once you have done this, please pray and ask God to guide you to a ministry where you can grow and start living the abundant life Jesus promised and died for.
